This is the
Standard
needle with a flat shank and a regular size eye for most home sewing machines and home sewer based embroidery and quilting machines. It has one groove and a regular scarf. It is available in many sizes with a sharp or a ball point and a     chrome (standard) or Titanium (PD) finish.
The Titanium (PD) finish lasts up to 5 times longer!

This is a special version of the 15X1 for
Stretch

materials or tightly woven

. It is made to higher standards, it has a “snake’s head” shape due to a combination of a slightly bulged eye and a slightly reduced blade above the eye. The bulged eye opens a slightly larger space in the material and the thinner blade above the eye reduces contact between the material and prevents skipped stitches. It is available in many sizes with a sharp or ball point and a chrome (standard) finish.
15X1ST, HAX1ST, 130/705H-E (Embroidery and Decorative Stitching – Regular Sharp and Ball Point)
This is a special version of the 15X1 for
Embroidery
and
Decorative Stitching
. It is made to higher standards for smoother sewing. It has an oversized eye to reduce the stress and tension on delicate embroidery thread. It also accommodates metallic threads and makes needle threading easier. It is available in many sizes with a sharp or a ball point and a chrome (standard) or Titanium (PD) finish.
The Titanium (PD) finish lasts up to 5 times longer!
15X1LR, 15X1LL, 15X2, HAX2, HAX1LR, HAX1LL, 130LR, 130/705H-LL (Leather – Cutting Leather Point)
This is the
Leather
point needle with a flat shank. It has all of the same features as the 15X1 with the addition of a lens shaped point to cut through leather and other heavy materials. Caution must be used when changing to this needle. Extra space must be left between needle penetrations to avoid “cutting out” the design.
Titanium (also known as “Perfect Durability” or “PD”)
These needles have a titanium-nitride ceramic finish which makes them more wear-resistant than any other needles. When embroidering large stitch patterns or penetrating very abrasive, dense or tough materials, the needle point and surface will maintain its original shape and dimensions 3 to 5 times longer. Titanium (PD) needle points will not wear down as fast as chromium (“chrome”) plated needle points. The use of Titanium (PD) needles gives you longer needle life, fewer defects due to “dulled” needle points, and increased productivity.
